Would You Like A Little More Information About Pack 353?

Pack 353 is divided into Dens, which are groups of scouts of the same age. Lions are our Kindergarteners, Tiger Cubs is for first graders, Wolves for second graders, Bears for third graders, Webelos for fourth graders and Arrow of Light for fifth graders.  These dens participate in age-appropriate activities under the direction of adult volunteers called Den Leaders.  These Dens typically get together monthly for meetings or activities, where they learn Scouting skills, do outdoor activities, arts and crafts, play games, and have fun.

Once a month, all the dens meet together for a Pack Meeting, at Morningstar UMC, in the sanctuary. These Pack meetings are for the whole family, and include, presentation of awards and advancements that the Cubs have earned, games, skits, other fun activities, and sometimes a meal.  The Pack also runs activities and campouts, including an annual Blue and Gold Banquet, the Pinewood Derby race, as well as participating in family fishing events and several campouts throughout the year.  During recent years, for example, we’ve camped at Tannehill Historic State Park, aboard The USS Alabama, Sharktooth Creek, Regions Park, inside DeSoto Caverns, Gulf State Park, Rickwood Caverns, the TN Aquarium, Guntersville State Park, FDR State Park in GA, the Talladega National Forest, and various Boy Scout Camps.  Our district sponsors a Cub Scout Day Camp each Summer.  We also participate in service projects during the year, such as the Chelsea Flag Day ceremony, flag retirement ceremonies, the Chelsea Christmas parade, The King’s Ranch, etc.  Our Pack’s active program consistently earns the Quality Unit award and Summertime Pack award.

Cub Scout Pack 353 welcomes all Kindergarten through fifth grade boys from Chelsea and the surrounding area. If you want to check us out, click here to contact us, and drop in at a meeting! Visitors and new scouts are always welcome.
